Privacy Policy

East Slope AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Viri mobile application and related services. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password sign-in. If you use Sign in with Apple’s private email relay, we receive an Apple-generated relay address rather than your personal email.

Profile information. During onboarding, you provide fitness-related data such as training goals, experience level, available equipment, and scheduling preferences. This is used to personalize your training plan.

Workout data. We store your generated workout sessions, completion status, and any feedback you provide (e.g., pain reports, session ratings, chat messages).

Diagnostic data. We collect crash reports, error logs, and stability data via Sentry to diagnose and fix issues. We do not currently collect product analytics, behavioral telemetry, or advertising identifiers.

How we use your data

• Personalization. Your profile and workout history are used to generate and adapt your training plan via AI.
• AI processing. We use Google’s Gemini AI to generate workout content and chat responses. Your fitness profile and conversation context are sent to Google for processing, as described in detail under “AI Features & Third-Party Processing” below. We do not send your email address or account credentials to the AI service.
• Service operation. Account data is used for authentication, support, and communicating service changes.

AI Features & Third-Party Processing

Viri’s plan generation, workout adjustments, and in-app chat are powered by Google’s Gemini AI. To provide these features, we share certain data with Google as described here.

Who receives the data. We share data with Google LLC, which processes it through its Gemini models on Google Cloud Vertex AI. Google acts as a data processor (subprocessor) for Viri’s AI features and processes this data on our behalf to deliver the features you request.

What data is sent to Google. When you use Viri’s AI features, we transmit the following to Google’s Gemini AI:

• Your fitness goals and free-text descriptions of your current activity
• Equipment access notes and exercise preferences
• Schedule preferences (available days, session length, time of day, and any notes)
• Your age, and — when you provide them — your sex, height, and weight
• The messages you send in chat with Viri, and the surrounding conversation context
• Your preferred name, if you choose to provide one

We do not send your email address, account credentials, or payment information to the AI service.

How it is collected and why. This data is collected directly from you during onboarding and while you chat with Viri in the app. It is used only to generate personalized training plans, generate and adjust workouts, and produce chat responses. It is not used for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Third-party protection. Google provides protection for this data that is equal to or greater than our own commitments in this policy. Under the Google Cloud / Vertex AI terms that govern our use, your prompts and the AI’s responses are not used to train Google’s models. For details, see the Google Cloud Terms of Service.

Retention and deletion. AI-processed data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app’s Settings, which removes this data.

Third-party services

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication (PostgreSQL, hosted in the US)
• Google LLC — AI content generation via Google’s Gemini models on Google Cloud Vertex AI (see “AI Features & Third-Party Processing” above)
• Sentry — crash and error reporting (diagnostic data only; no behavioral analytics)
• Apple — app distribution, Sign in with Apple, and in-app purchases (subject to Apple’s privacy policy)
• RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation (receives an anonymous app user ID and subscription state)
• Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and inbound email routing for @viri.fit addresses

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL databases with row-level security enabled. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the iOS Keychain.

Your rights

You can request to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your workout history

Age restrictions

Viri is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
